Park City Part IV

One Wednesday we drove over a mountain pass to Brighton to go on a hike. It was windy on the top of the pass!

Very beautiful though!

Roen picking flowers with his cousin Olivia who came up from Provo to visit
We actually did this trip twice, once with just our family, and again with Annie's brother's family.

Halle and Roen at Silver Lake near Brighton. This was a great hike for the kids, with half of it a boardwalk and the rest a nice easy path.

The lake and surrounding mountains were beautiful. (So are these two ladies)

Halle tripped and skinned her knee. She fashioned a band aid by wetting a small leaf.

It stuck on all the way back to the car. (She was pretty proud)

Roen, Halle, and their cousin Olivia. We went to a concert at Deer Valley resort. They are free every Wed. night. It was fun, but this is where we met the notorious snootiness of Park City. Apparently, to have children, especially ones that play, is out of vogue at these venues. Don't let your children run, or graze peoples carefully placed picnic blankets, you will get some impressive dirty looks.

Too bad! Our kids were running up and down this place. And some of the people were so over the top trendy and snooty it just made it all funny. Good people watching!

We had fun anyway, despite offending the locals with our non-sedentary spawn. This is a picture of us with Rob an Jaime, and their two daughters Olivia and Brooklyn.

These are some tired and zoned out faces. The kids did really great with all the traveling. In fact, we drove home in one day, and Halle said it was her favorite day, because we got to watch three movies, and eat out twice.

We would love to go back here someday, it's a fun and beautiful way to get out of the heat in AZ. We had lots of fun just being together. Hopefully, we can go back some summer!

We love Brighton and have tons of boardwalk pictures from our trips there through the years.

And Q's parents have been wanting to take the kids on the Heber Creeper -- guess we'll have to do it next time we're there. C would love the bandits.

Looks like you had loads of fun!

What a trip!!! Looks like tons of fun - snooty locals and all. We will have to try one of those concerts and watch the fun ourselves. Maybe we can even bring nieces & nephews. :)
Next time you are near the SL Valley, you are cordially invited to dinner at our home. or a snack. or lunch. or breakfast. whatever - I would love to see you and all your cute munchkins. We are in Murray - where i-15 and i-215 cross.
love,
ashley (jones)
