Soccer Girl!

Halle started playing soccer this year. At first she wasn't too excited. She thought her outfit looked "ridiculous."

But now she knows everyone is dressed like that, and she has a lot of fun with the other girls on the team. The first week no one knew the rules. They kicked the ball out of bounds and just kept on playing right onto another field behind the parents for several minutes before the coaches could get them to stop and come back.

I love how the coach is telling them to look at him but not a single girl is.

It's just a 3 on 3 girls league, and there is no keeping score. This really bugged Halle! No one could tell her who won the first game. She went on and on about it, and to get her to go to sleep, I had to promise to keep score next week. So now I have to quietly tell her the score between quarters. Although last week she would tell the girls around her after they scored...making me look bad Halle!

She has been getting a lot better. It's fun to watch her improve, taking angles to catch up to someone and getting in front of the goal. She will often run past the ball to get in front of the goal to stop the other team from scoring. I think she would rather stop them than score herself. (kind of consistent with her personality)

She said her favorite thing is when other girls on her team score. She is so excited and happy for them. (Also consistent with her personality)
She scored 4 of her teams 5 goals one night, including this winning goal in the 4th quarter. This is a bad shot, but the only one we had of her excitement after scoring.

It's a lot of games, every Friday night, but she sure is fun to watch! It's official, we have now entered the phase of our lives where we will always be at our kids activities. (Yay.)
