Thanksgiving 2011

This year, we went with Annie's family to California. We rented "The Big House," as the kids call it, in Poway, CA, about 30 min north of downtown San Diego.

It was a pretty awesome house, and the entire Martinsen side of the family fit in it pretty comfortably.

We made pinatas for our Thanksgiving fiesta. For some reason, they put the dentist in charge of buying the candy.

One of the cousins had their first birthday while we were there. Roen decided this sword would be an appropriate utensil for eating cake.

We went to Disneyland which was fun, but incredibly crowded. Never go to Disneyland the week of Thanksgiving! This was waiting in line for the Jungle River Boat ride.

Disneyland: A magical place where the churros are half as tall as you are.

Annie and I got to head out on our own for a bit while grandma and grandpa took the kids. This picture is pretty identical to one we took 10 years ago at Disneyland, 1 month before we were engaged. Presh.

We went to the beach one day. Warm enough for playing, but we didn't really get in the water. Actually, the water was warmer than it was when I did the Camp Pendelton Sprint Triathlon last August (next year wearing a wetsuit).

Apparently, Halle's hair looks awesome in a sunset. 

We had our own Turkey Trot, complete with T-shirts. This is Roen, Marcus, and Olivia ready to go.

 Roen ran about a mile and half! Who knew?

And I discovered, no matter how far you can run on your own, it's really hard to run while holding a one year old. (apparently 400 meters is about the limit)

Halle did about a mile!

We also went to the San Diego Zoo.

The kids loved playing with the cousins. It was kind of hard to come home. We had a great trip!
