Summer "break"

Halle had a grand total of four days off after school before she began musical theater. This was her first year doing it. It is a two week long summer camp where the kids learn and perform songs from musicals and a few pop songs too. She loved it! She got so into it that it surprised even us at the performance. And heck if she doesn't know ever word to "Cup of Life" by Ricky Martin and "Tonight Tonight by Hot Chelle Ray. Those are the songs we all sing along to at parts, but Halle can go through the whole thing.

They Performed Songs from Thoroughly Modern Millie, Guys and Dolls, the Wiz, Wicked, and the Wizard of Oz. Halle tried out for a part in the Lullaby League and made it!

This is from The Wiz. She got so into it. I love it!

Because of musical theater. Halle missed her regular time of swim team for the first two weeks. We had her in swim lessons to help her get back up to speed before team. Then we found out she can attend night team. So she would go to swim lessons from 8-8:30, change in the car, musical theater from 9-12:30, and then night swim team at 5. The last two days of musical theater were 9-4 and a performance at 7 PM. What the what? We are busier than in the school year!
Halle, poised and ready for backstroke.
Look at the extension our of the blocks. Olympics 2020?

Waiting for the ribbon.
Third place! She just started learning back stroke four days before.
Cam playing under the bleachers just like I did at older siblings swim meets. (George Castanza photo shoot for the cute 1 hour photo girl?...anyone?...anyone?
Halle was fast enough in time trials she made the relay team. Here she is waiting for her leg.
Waiting...
...Still waiting...
Let us just say she was the fastest on her team, but she had the pool to herself on the last leg.
But another 3rd place! Nice job Halle! And when the heck did you get so grown up?

She is so dang cute.
by the time this break is over, she is going to be exhausted!

So good to keep her busy with the things she loves! Such a well rounded little girl!

Way to go Halle! That's awesome there's musical theater camp - I've never heard of that. What a fun experience!
