Roen had a super bland birthday, but pretty sweet compared to his normal winter days. Rob was feeling pretty sick and so we didn't have any friends over for the cake and ice cream, since he has been working on it for the past day and a half. But still, he got a sweet Thomas the Train cake, ice cream, Animals, Planes, and some Hot Wheels...what else does a two year old kid need?!?
Happy Birthday Roen!

Annie! Look at your culinary skills. Impressive!
Actually, these are Rob's mad skills. He did Halle and Roen's cakes this year. But, you should have eaten my soup tonight. Totally culinary. And delicious.
What kind of soup was it...can I have the recipe?! And, okay, the cake WAS amazing, even if you had to dye your kitchen black for it.
Lets just be clear...nothing is dyed...the kitchen is fine (aside from no counter space and ONE DRAWER), the table is fine (aside from breaking into two pieces when you open it too far), all the food coloring was cleaned up, and we all now understand why they usually come in those funny little dropper bottles. However, the black color came in a huge 1.5 oz. bottle with a gaping opening and a narrow base and, hence, easily spilled.
Was it worth it...not sure. Roen probably would have been happy with a single chocolate chip.
Rob...if you're going to be allowed in the kitchen in the future you're going to have to learn to handle those "gaping openings and narrow bases" because they're everywhere :)
Happy Birthday!!!! Time really flies.
single chocolate chip--ha ha. roen is so adorable. i love your kids. can we visit you in the spring? thanks.
That is some mad skills on the Thomas cake. Good job. Happy birthday Roen.
Impressive cake!
also: i love how there's one picture of Roen and 20 of the cake. :D
Hey, for your information we made the mistake of feeding Roen Dinner and then having cake and presents. Ergo, he looked like a scrub in nearly all the pictures and I didn't feel like photo shopping his shirt anymore.
Also...cake...not photo shopped.
