Today we cut up construction paper and folded and stapled them to make a book. Halle asked us to write the words for her story. We were pretty impressed! (This is verbatim)
The Color Met Another Color
By Halle Scoresby
By Halle Scoresby
Once upon a time there was a color who was walking along and saw another color. The other color was orange and the first color was purple. Purple was a girl and Orange was a boy, because purple is pretty and orange is handsome.
They were walking along and met light blue, and then they met yellow. They all hopped along until they found their nest, and went to sleep until it was spring, because there are no colors awake in winter. And in spring they all happily hopped along until winter. It was Autumn when they found each other. When they saw colors again it was spring, and they sang and sang!
One day they took their nest and got on a train and went to Antarctica, and there they found white and black. They came back on the 17th, and it was beautiful, and they yelled, "SPRING!" And they laughed and laughed!
The End
After reading it back to her Halle said, "I'm an Author!"

The End
We don't have the heart to tell her the colors will be sleeping for a few more months!

Funny story! So, do you have a job where all you will do is work? Is AZ still the plan?
Wow, quite impressive. I'm ready for the colors to come out of their nests now!
Tell Halle that all the colors are waiting for her...in Grandma and Grandpa Martinsen's backyard...in Arizona. I will sieze upon every opportunity to manipulate my grandchildren closer to me :)
Wow, She is super creative!! I am impressed!
Super cute. I love it when kids start making sense. :D
