During Spring Break our Family went on hike to the Superstition Mountains.
Lots of Desert flowers were blooming, it was a beautiful day. This is as close as we could get Halle to sit bear the cactus.
This is supposed to be one of the easiest hikes for kids in the Superstitions, but they must not mean four year old kids.

Cam got sick of the backpack but then demanded Mommy's glasses.

The trail goes up a canyon to some hieroglyphs and cascading pools (when there is water running). By the time we got up there the kids were pretty wiped out.

| The kids had fun playing in the little cave. It was actually just one huge rock that fell on some smaller ones. They called it "The Rock House" and played in it for about 45 minutes before we left. |

| Roen got a bit tired and needed some help. Dad got a good lower body workout. Halle walked the whole way up and nearly all the way back. They were good little hikers. |

| We found a rattlesnake on the trail. The kids were way better about it than I thought they would be. Maybe they were just too worn out to get too worked up about it. They thought it was pretty cool to hear the rattle, since the ones at the Zoo are always alseep when we go. |

| It was a good little hike. We love Arizona winters! |

Hey, I was just at superstition mountain last Saturday! My aunt and uncle have a house right at the base in apache junction and I was out in Mesa for a few days for a wedding. You guys look great, and the kids couldn't be more adorable!
oh man, I think my back just broke looking at that picture of you carrying two kids on your body.
looks so fun though. i want to go to there.
Wait, don't you have 4 kids? ;) Looks like a fun trip! We'll have to put that hike on our list of things to do when the weather cools down again in the fall. A few months ago we went and "hiked" to Tonto Natural Bridge which was perfect for the little ones!
We're going to do that this summer. Glad to hear it's a good hike for the kiddos. This one was a bit of a stretch.
